A job is one piece of work needed to resolve a maintenance issue. You can add several jobs to the same issue when different suppliers, trades, or visits are required.

Add a job

To add a job, follow these steps:
  1. Open the issue from the Maintenance page.
  2. In Jobs, click Add job.
  3. Enter a Name and optional Description.
  4. Optionally select an Assignee from your team.
  5. Click Add job.
The job starts as Draft. You can then request quotes or assign the work directly.

Assign work directly

Use direct assignment when you already know who will do the work and do not need to compare quotes.
  1. Open the job’s actions menu and select Assign.
  2. Switch on Done in house when your own team will do the work, or select a Supplier.
  3. Enter the Agreed price if it is known.
  4. Click Assign.
If the price is above the Unit’s maintenance threshold, Yorlet shows that landlord approval is required before the job can be completed. See Landlord approvals.

Schedule a visit

Once a job is approved, follow these steps:
  1. Open the job’s actions menu and select Schedule visit.
  2. Choose the Date and From time.
  3. Optionally set an Until time to give the tenant a visit window.
  4. Leave Tell the tenant switched on to email the person who reported the issue.
  5. Click Schedule.
Use Reschedule visit from the same menu if the appointment changes.

Complete a job

To record completed work, follow these steps:
  1. Open the job’s actions menu and select Complete.
  2. Describe What was done.
  3. Confirm the Final cost.
  4. Optionally click Attach invoice to upload PDF, PNG, or JPEG invoices.
  5. Click Mark completed.
Yorlet will not complete work above the Unit’s maintenance threshold until the landlord has approved it.

Cancel a job

Open the job’s actions menu, select Cancel job, and enter a reason if useful. Cancelling the job also closes any outstanding quote for it.
Completed and cancelled jobs are final records. Add another job if further work is required.
